Ag Literacy Day - Thursday, March 20
The goal of Ag Literacy Day is to boost awareness and understanding of agriculture among children and the general public. Our education and agricultural partners hope to inspire both urban and rural students to learn more about Georgia's No. 1 industry, and it starts with ag literacy.
Ways to Participate:
- Follow along with Commissioner Harper as he reads "The Soil in Jackie's Garden" by Peggy Thomas. Video coming soon.
- Since agriculture is celebrated year-round, we invite you to explore Georgia Farm Bureau's Book Recommendations page monthly, featuring books centered on agriculture: https://www.gfb.org/learn/book-recommendations.
- Check out our Georgia Grown Storytime Video Series on Facebook.
- Find a book from our reading list and read to your child’s classroom or with your family at home. Don’t forget to take pictures and tag us on social!
- Discover a book from our adult-oriented reading list centered on agriculture and its lasting influence on Georgia and the nation.
- Use #AgHeroDay on social media to share how you celebrate.
