House of Raeford, a Nesmith, S.C., establishment, is recalling approximately 76,961 pounds of corn dog products due to possible spoilage, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

The mini chicken corn dogs were produced on April 24, 2023. The following product is subject to recall [view labels]:

  • 1.83-lb. resealable bag containing “FOSTER FARMS MINI CORN DOGS BITE-SIZED CHICKEN FRANKS DIPPED IN BATTER HONEY CRUNCHY FLAVOR” with lot codes 123114 and 223114 and best if used by date of 4/23/24.

The product subject to recall bears the establishment number “P- 9136” printed on the package. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

The problem was discovered after the firm notified FSIS that it received consumer complaints that the product had an odor, off appearance, and unpleasant taste.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Panamerican Foods, LLC, is recalling approximately 4,978 pounds of the pork and beef bean stew products that were imported from an establishment in Brazil that is not eligible to export meat products to the United States, U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

The following products are subject to recall, regardless of the product date [view labels]:

  • 430g cans containing “Anglo Feijoada Pronta para servir”.
  • 430g cans containing “Bordon Feijoada PRONTO PARA SERVIR”.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “76 S.I.F.” on the can. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

The problem was discovered when FSIS followed up on a referral from USDA’s Smuggling Interdiction and Trade Compliance Program. The pork and beef bean stew products, which were imported from a Brazilian establishment not eligible to export meat products to the United States, were observed for sale in a retail store.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ pantries. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Everest Food Products Private Limited of Gujarat, India has been notified by FDA that samples of their products, Sambhar Masala and Garam Masala, have tested positive for Salmonella. These products were not distributed by Everest Food Products Private Limited and they were not intended for distribution or sale in the US market.  Amin Trading Agency LLC., Edison, NJ. sourced our products from Indian markets and distributed them in the US market. Amin Trading Agency LLC. is conducting a recall of these products because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

The affected retail customers have been notified of this recall and instructed to remove any recalled product from retail store shelves and inventories.

Customers are urged to check their freezers for the recalled product, not to consume it and either discard the product or return it to the store for a full refund. Consumers may also request a refund by calling Kroger Customer Connect at 800-632-6900, Option 1, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.- Midnight, EST. Saturday-Sunday, 7 a.m.-9:30 p.m., EST.

To date, there have been no illnesses associated with this voluntary recall.

Santo’s Frozen Foods, Inc. issued a voluntary recall of select boxes of 100 count, 36 count, and 24 count boxes of Deviled Crabs because they contain undeclared milk and sesame seeds. People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk or sesame seeds run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Recalled product was distributed and available for purchase from March through June 2023. The Deviled Crabs under recall are packaged in plain brown cardboard boxes with two white labels. The recalled products have a six digit Lot # starting with 23 and ending with 03 or 04 or 05. The Lot # is on a white label on the long side of the box.

The recall was initiated after it was found that the affected box labels do not declare milk or sesame seeds as allergens. No allergic reactions related to this matter have been reported to date. Consumers with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk or sesame seeds should not consume the product and discard it immediately. Santo’s Frozen Foods, Inc. has informed the FDA of this action.

Scenic Fruit Company of Gresham, Oregon is recalling frozen organic pineapple and frozen fruit blends containing organic pineapple as the product has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

To date, there have been no illnesses associated with this voluntary recall.

This recall is being made with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

All inventories of the affected lot should be removed from sale. Consumers should not consume the recalled products. Consumers who have purchased the products are urged to destroy or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. SunOpta Inc’s subsidiary, Sunrise Growers Inc., has issued a voluntary recall of specific frozen fruit products linked to pineapple provided by a third-party supplier due to the potential for these products to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. Conagra Brands, Inc., a Russellville, Ark. establishment, is recalling approximately 2,717 pounds of frozen beef shepherd’s pie products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically clear, flexible plastic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

The frozen beef shepherd’s pie products were produced on March 1, 2023, with time stamps ranging between 17:45-17:56 hours. The following products are subject to recall:

  • 4.31 lbs. cases of “MC Beef Shepherd’s Pie” with lot code 5006306020, BEST BY FEB 24 2024 and case code 2113100032, containing six 11.5 oz. carton packages of "Marie Callender’s BEEF SHEPHERD’S PIE” with lot code 5006306020 and BEST BY FEB 24 2024 on the side panel, with time stamps ranging between 17:45-17:56

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST 233” next to the USDA mark of inspection on the case and above the “BEST BY DATE” on the side panel of the individual product. These items were shipped to retail customer distribution centers in California, Colorado, Oregon, and Utah, and further distributed nationwide.

The problem was discovered when the firm received consumer complaints reporting pieces of clear, flexible plastic in the product, and notified FSIS of the situation. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

RICHIN TRADING INC. OF ALHAMBRA, CA is voluntarily recalling its Mini Fruit Jelly Cup (35.27oz. and 52.90 oz.) due to the products being a potential choking hazard based off the product size. Small jelly cups have previously been implicated in choking deaths of children.

The recalled jelly cups were distributed nationwide in retail food stores and are sold in large clear jars. Below are the products being recalled:

  1. Sun Wave Mini Fruit Jelly Cup (Assorted Flavors); UPC 715685121437; Net Weight 52.91 oz.
  2. Sun Wave Mini Fruit Jelly Cup (Mango Flavor); UPC 715685121444; Net Weight 52.91 oz.
  3. Sun Wave Mini Fruit Jelly Cup (Lychee Flavor); UPC 715685121451; Net Weight 52.91 oz.

No incidents of consumers choking have been reported to date in connection with these products.

The potential choking hazard was confirmed after discussion with a representative from the Food and Drug Administration.

Consumers who have purchased the above products are urged to return them to the store of purchase for a full refund or dispose them in a sealed package inside a secure garbage can with a tight-fitting lid. Frito-Lay today issued a voluntary recall of select 15 oz. Tostitos Avocado Salsa Jar Dips that may contain an undeclared milk allergen. Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

While the front of the affected jar is correctly labeled as Tostitos Avocado Salsa, the back of the jar is mislabeled with another product’s nutrition information and declarations. As a result, the allergen milk is not declared on the label.

The product covered by this recall was distributed nationwide at retail stores and via e-commerce channels. Consumers would have been able to purchase the jars as early as April 5, 2023. No other Tostitos products, flavors, sizes, or dip variety packs are recalled.

No allergic reactions related to this matter have been reported to date. If consumers have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk, they should not consume the product and discard it immediately. Frito-Lay has informed the FDA of this action.
