CRAWFORD COUNTY, GA – Today, Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper announced the arrest of Robert James Hester following a joint investigation by the Georgia Department of Agriculture Law Enforcement Division (GDA-LE), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Crawford County Sheriff's Office, and Peach County SWAT into alleged illegal dog fighting activities. “The Georgia Department of Agriculture has zero tolerance for illegal dog fighting and the cruelty it inflicts on animals. This investigation not only led to the rescue of 23 dogs believed to have been used for fighting, but also uncovered multiple firearms, and suspected narcotics,” said Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper. “We remain committed to working alongside our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to investigate these crimes, protect animal welfare, and hold those who violate the law accountable. I want to thank each of our law enforcement partners for their coordinated efforts and unwavering commitment to protecting Georgians.”
