ATLANTA, GA — In case you missed it, last week, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) announced the launch of the America First Agriculture Commissioners and Secretaries Council and named Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper as one of the Council’s twelve members. The council brings together agriculture leaders from across the nation to inform federal, state, and local policy recommendations that further President Trump’s Farmers First Agenda.
“I am incredibly proud to serve as a member of the America First Agriculture Commissioners and Secretaries Council, and I look forward to working with AFPI and my fellow Council members to champion policies that put American and Georgia farmers first,” said Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper. “As one of America’s top production ag states, Georgia needs a seat at the table in the national conversation on ag policy, and I’m excited to fill that role and advise on policies that support our state’s #1 industry.”

Other members of the Council include Arkansas Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward; Idaho Director of Agriculture Chanel Tewalt; Indiana Director of Agriculture Don Lamb; Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig; Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell; Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture & Commerce Andy Gipson; Nebraska Director of Agriculture Sherry Vinton; Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur, South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers; Tennessee Commissioner of Agriculture Charlie Hatcher; and Texas Commissioner of Agriculture Sid Miller. President Trump’s Farmers First Agenda advances three primary goals: driving rural prosperity, right sizing and reorienting government, and developing a responsible nutrition policy that protects the health, safety, and security of the American people.
AFPI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, non-partisan research institute dedicated to advancing policies that put the American people first.
