ACTION: Notice of Intent to Consider Amendments to Rule 40-12-4-01 entitled “Limitations on Noxious Weed Seeds”

TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS AND PARTIES:

Pursuant to the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, O.C.G.A. §§ 2-11-21 and 50-13-4, notice is hereby given that the Georgia Department of Agriculture will be accepting written comments regarding the adoption of amendments to Rule 40-12-4-.01 entitled “Limitations on Noxious Weed Seeds.” The Department will be accepting written comments from April 2, 2020, to the close of business (4:30 p.m. EST) on May 4, 2020.

SYNOPSIS, MAIN FEATURES AND DIFFERENCES:

The Department is proposing to amend Rule 40-12-4-.01 by updating the limitation on Pigweed (Amaranthus spp.) from 27 seeds per pound of pure seed to 270 seeds per pound of pure seed.

COMMENT PERIOD AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The Department will be accepting written comments from April 2, 2020, to close of business (4:30 p.m. EST) on May 4, 2020. Comments will be considered on May 5, 2020. Please submit written comments to:
