UGA Griffin Urban Pest Management Program: Workshop for School Pest Managers/Coordinators

The Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) is sponsoring School Pest Managers and Pest Management Coordinators to attend a School Integrated Pest Management (IPM) workshop. GDA will pay for the course registration fee which includes lunch and will pay for a hotel the night prior if needed. To attend you must be an employee of a school system and involved with pest management or hiring and coordinating these services. Attendees must be present for the entire workshop from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM including a catered lunch. If you would like to submit a nomination, please complete the nomination form and email it to ali.ikner@agr.georgia.gov. You may nominate yourself and more than one person may be nominated per school. The class is limited to 40. Please see the draft agenda and location information. The deadline for nominations is February 29, 2024. Selected nominees will be notified by March 8, 2024.

The workshop will focus on developing school pest management services using IPM principles. The concepts taught at this workshop will help attendees develop more sustainable pest management programs and reinforce important safety principles to prevent pesticide exposures in the school environment.
