Georgia Department of Agriculture to Host Training Session for Farmers and Growers on Produce Safety Rule

Atlanta, GA - Today, the Georgia Department of Agriculture has announced that its Produce Safety Division will host a one-day workshop on the Food Modernization Act’s Produce Safety Rule on October 8, 2024. This training utilizes the Produce Safety Alliance’s curriculum and is open to all produce growers with annual sales over $25,000. The Georgia Department of Agriculture hosts several training events annually to promote best practices and help ensure the safety of our state’s food supply.

  • What: Workshop on FSMA Produce Safety Rule, Good Agricultural Practices, microbial risks, and developing a farm food safety plan.

  • Who Should Attend: Produce growers with annual sales over $25,000, especially those with operations exceeding $500,000.
