ATLANTA, GA – Today, Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper announced the appointment of Ali Ikner as his designee to the Georgia Structural Pest Control Commission (SPCC). Ikner received the Oath of Office from Commissioner Harper on July 29, 2026, following the retirement of longtime designee Derrick Lastinger. Lastinger served as the Commissioner's designee on the SPCC for 16 years, including more than a decade as vice chairman. As Lastinger's successor, Ikner will continue supporting the SPCC's mission to protect Georgia consumers and uphold professional standards within Georgia's structural pest control industry.

Established by the Structural Pest Control Act of 1955, the Georgia Structural Pest Control Commission (SPCC) oversees Georgia's structural pest control industry while helping protect consumers across the state. The seven-member Commission is composed of three licensed structural pest control industry representatives, one entomologist from the University of Georgia, one public health professional, one consumer affairs representative with no ties to the pest management industry, and the Georgia Agriculture Commissioner's designee.
