ACTION: Notice of Intent to Consider Amendments to Rule 40-16-1-.09 entitled “Hazardous Biologicals, Authority to Impound”

TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS AND PARTIES:

Pursuant to the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, O.C.G.A. §§ 4-9-5 and 50-13-4, notice is hereby given that the Georgia Department of Agriculture will be accepting written comments regarding the adoption of amendments to Rule 40-16-1-.09 entitled “Hazardous Biologicals, Authority to Impound.” The Department will be accepting written comments from June 11, 2018, to the close of business (4:30 p.m. EST) on July 11, 2018.

SYNOPSIS, MAIN FEATURES AND DIFFERENCES:

The Department is proposing to amend Rule 40-16-1-.09 by removing the reference to “Strain 19” and by removing the provision allowing rabies vaccine to be used “under the direction of” any veterinarian licensed under the Georgia Veterinary Practice Act and “employees of the state and federal government approved by the State Veterinarian.”
