Extended Equine CVI

Exciting news for horse owners!

The Equine Event Permit will be replaced with the Extended Equine Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (EECVI).

  • Digital format
  • Available to owners 24/7
  • More states will accept the EECVI than our current permit
  • States will honor existing permits until they expire

Owner Agent

  • The EECVI allows you to transport your equine for special events to and from participating states for 6 months or until your EIA test result expires.
  • The EECVI Movement Permit & Health Declaration is not valid for movement associated with a change of ownership.

  • Contact your veterinarian for a physical examination of your equine.
  • You will need a current negative EIA test result.
  • You request a movement document online any time during the valid period when YOU want to move with your horse!

  • Any costs associated with the EECVI are determined by your veterinarian and paid for by you, the owner.

Any technology company can produce the EECVI and currently, it will be offered by Global VetLink beginning January 1, 2019.
