Recall of Lacteos Santa Martha cheese and cream products due to possible health risk
Agriculture Commissioner Gary W. Black is alerting Georgians to the recall of some Lacteos Santa Martha cheese and cream products that have been distributed here in Georgia, because the products have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Georgia Department of Agriculture inspectors will be checking with distributors to make sure the recalled product is removed from commerce and further distribution. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
