Public Weigher's License

Description:

A person who shall weigh, measure or record the indications or readings of weighing or measuring and declare the weight, measure, reading or recording to be in true weight, measure, reading or recording of any commodity, article or product.

Renewal: Yearly renewal of License. Fiscal year is July 1 - June 30.

Requirements:

Any person who shall weigh, measure, or record the indications or readings of weighing or measuring and declare the weight, measure, reading, or recording to be in true weight, measure, reading, or recording of any commodity, article, or product may be licenses under this article and shall be known as a certified public weigher of Georgia. Certified Public Weighers shall be licensed for a period of one year beginning on July 1 and ending on June 30. A fee of $15.00 shall be paid by each person at the time the application is filed. Upon his/her appointment as a certified public weigher, a license permit shall be issuded to him/her authorizing the applicant to weigh, measure and record any and all commodities. In addition, the applicant shall pay the actual cost of seals required.

Renewal: A fee of $15.00 shall be required for each renewal of a license as a certified public weigher.

Fees:

$15.00 each weigher for license
Rubber/Crimp Seals $47.00 each new weigher
