Over the past few years, there has been growing excitement over the future of citrus as a commercial crop in Georgia. With an emphasis on diversification, advancements in frost protection, and cold-tolerant varieties, farmers have begun planting citrus across South Georgia. At the encouragement of the Georgia Citrus Grower's Association, the Georgia Department of Agriculture adopted regulations to protect this new industry.
