GDA Animal Industry Division Director
Adam was named the Animal Industry Division Director for the Georgia Department of Agriculture on January 16, 2018. As such, he oversees the Department’s Animal Health, Livestock and Poultry, Companion Animal and Equine, and Meat Inspection Programs.
Adam moved to Georgia in February 2015 to serve as the State Meat Inspection Director. Prior to moving to Georgia, Adam worked for the State of Texas Meat Inspection Program in various technical, administrative, and managerial capacities. Adam began his career as an entry level Meat Inspector in 1999 and worked his way up the organizational ladder to ultimately serve as the Manager of Policy, Standards, and Quality Assurance from 2011 to 2015.
Adam has a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin (SFA) State University and a Master of Public Health Policy and Management (MPHPM) from Texas A&M School of Public Health. He graduated from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Executive Leadership Academy in May 2014. In addition, Adam maintains a Certification in Public Health (CPH) through the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE) and is an inducted member of Delta Omega, Honorary Society in Public Health.
Adam and his wife, Katie, have five children: Haley, Aren, Micah, Adison, and Katelin. They enjoy music and traveling together as a family, and attend the First Baptist Church of Woodstock.
