The Georgia Department of Agriculture has reached an agreement with the current owner of two Kingsland truck stops to allow them to re-open.
On February 12, inspectors with the Georgia Department of Agriculture locked all fuel pumps of Cisco Travel Plaza #1 at Exit 6 and Cisco Travel Plaza #2 at Exit 1 on Interstate 95 after discovering the pumps were shorting customers by not delivering enough gasoline.
The owner of the truck stops, Global Energy USA LLC, has agreed to pay $500,000 of which $250,000 will be suspended provided there are no further problems.
Pumps at the truck stop have been calibrated, approved and sealed. Department of Agriculture inspectors will continue to monitor the pumps closely.
“The current owner has been extremely cooperative in this investigation,” said Commissioner of Agriculture Tommy Irvin.
The Georgia Department of Agriculture is continuing its investigation into possible violations at these truck stops by previous owners.
