Del Valle Clam Club product recalled for ingredients not listed on package

Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin is alerting consumers to a nationwide allergy alert on some clam products that may have been improperly labeled.

Jugos del Valle USA, Houston, is recalling 6,200 cases of Del Valle Clam Club Tomato and Natural Clam Cocktail. The beverages may contain undeclared wheat, fish, milk, shrimp, and crab ingredients.

The Del Valle Clam Club product affected is packaged in an 8.4 fl. oz. glass bottle with UPC code 32239 05702. All lot codes are being recalled.

Georgians who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat, fish, milk, shrimp or crab, could run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if the product is consumed.

Del Valle Clam Club beverages were imported from Mexico and distributed to retailers in 25 states through retail stores. Those facilities are located in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Washington and Virginia.
