Cibo Naturals recalls Classic Basil Pesto

Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture Tommy Irvin is warning consumers that some pesto sauce distributed by Cibo Naturals of Seattle, Wash., is being recalled by the company because it may contain pine nuts, a known allergen, not listed on the label.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to pine nuts (tree nuts) run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The 6-oz. clear plastic containers of Cibo Naturals Classic Basil Pesto were distributed nationwide through retail grocery stores. The lot numbers that may contain undeclared pine nuts are 34007344, 34007345, and 34007346. The lot numbers are printed in black ink on the bottom of the containers.

Consumers who have purchased Cibo Naturals Classic Basil Pesto are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 800-588-7782.
