A Vietnam-imported sweetened ginger is being recalled for containing a preservative not listed on the label.
Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin reports Domega International Company, Brooklyn, NY, is withdrawing from sale its Korica Brand Mut Gung Sweetened Ginger because it contains sulfites without listing them on the product label.
Georgians with sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
The ginger, sold nationwide in seven-ounce plastic tubs, does not have a product or production code on its label.
Irvin says consumers may return the product to place of purchase for a full refund.
