Packages contain chocolate meringue pie with milk not lemon meringue on the label

Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin says a lemon meringue pie is being recalled because some of the packages contain chocolate meringue pie which contains milk, not listed as an ingredient on the product label.

Chef Pierre® is recalling a partial production run of its Gourmet Lemon Meringue Pie because of the error.  The milk, not listed on the label, may pose a potential serious and life-threatening health risk to those who have a milk allergy.

The recall involves about 4,380 cases of Chef Pierre Gourmet Lemon Meringue Pie.  The product being recalled has the UPC CODE 3210009293 and the code 9159 printed on the top of the pie label and directly under the Chef Pierre logo.

No other Chef Pierre branded products are affected by this recall.
The recalled product was sold and distributed nationally to foodservice companies and sold to consumers through foodservice retail outlets and other foodservice establishments.
