Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin is alerting consumers to another pistachio product being recalled due to possible contamination with Salmonella.

Georgians are warned not to eat California Prime Produce and Orange County Orchards brands of pistachios repacked by Orca Distribution West Inc., Anaheim, Calif.

Orca received and repacked pistachios recalled earlier this year by Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella Inc., Terra Bella, Calif.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration found that products subject to Setton Pistachio's recall had been repacked and distributed by Orca under the California Prime Produce and Orange County Orchards brands.

The California Prime Produce and Orange County Orchards brands of pistachios were packaged in clear six-ounce flexible plastic Ziploc bags, UPC Number: 8 10826 01116 2 with Sell By Dates of 7/30/09 and 8/30/09.

To date, more than 660 product entries have been included in the FDA’s list of recalled pistachio products associated with the recall by Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella Inc.
