Pistachio Recall Update - June 4, 2009

Commissioner of Agriculture Tommy Irvin is alerting Georgians to another pistachio product being recalled due to possible contamination with Salmonella. 

Regal Health Food International is recalling Regal Gourmet Snacks Pistachio.  The product is a nine-ounce bag of natural, in-shell, roasted and salted pistachios with the lot number 2958D05XLA1 stamped directly on the clear plastic bag.  For more information about the recall visit http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm164134.htm.  The product is connected to the recall of pistachios from Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc.

Georgia Department of Agriculture inspectors have been checking retail stores and food warehouses to make sure this and all the other recalled pistachio products have been removed from sale.
