Allergy Alert for Soy
Georgia Ag Chief Warns, Wise’s Nachos Mislabeled
ATLANTA -- Wise Foods, Inc. Berwick, Pennsylvania, has voluntarily recalled all sizes of Nacho Tortilla chips because the products may contain soy, an undeclared allergen, Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin announced today.
The products being recalled are Wise brand Nacho Tortilla chips with code dates up to and including JAN2907 and private label product with code dates up to and including NOV1306 on the top right portion of the bag.
“The problem with these tortilla chips is that they could contain soy, a known food allergen, and that information is not declared in the ingredients statement,” Commissioner Irvin said. “Consumers should return the mislabeled bags for a refund.”
No allergic reactions or illnesses associated with consumption of the product have been reported. Consumers with questions about the recall should contact the company toll free number at 1-888-759-4401. A complete list of the products is below.
