Simmons canned dog food voluntarily recalled
Fifteen kinds of dog food are being voluntarily recalled by Simmons Pet Food, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Consumer complaints led to the discovery of “random flaking” of the inside coating of the can.
The products being recalled include Simmons’s Ol Roy, Pot Luck, Twin Pet and American Fare canned dog foods. The dog foods are sold at Wal-Mart and other retail outlets across the country under several private labels.
“This is a voluntary recall. We are pleased that there hasn’t been any adverse reaction to the defective cans at this time,” said Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin. “The affected products are being removed from Wal-Mart shelves. Customers who have already bought the recall products may return them to their place of purchase for a full refund.”
The recalled dog food is in 22 oz. cans and includes:
