Lakeside Foods: private labeler for Wolfgang Puck,
Hillside, Chef Jay’s and others, recalls 10 oz. can products

Lakeside Foods, Inc., Manitowoc WI, is recalling all products in its 10 oz. self-heating containers because some of the cans are leaking.

According to Lakeside in a company press release, “some cans may be contaminated with spoilage organisms or harmful bacteria due to seal leakage.”

Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin warns consumers that they have to be extra cautious because Lakeside distributes its foods under a number of private labels.

The labels and products under the recall include:

WOLFGANG PUCK RICH CARAMEL LATTE
WOLFGANG PUCK RICH ESPRESSO LATTE
WOLFGANG PUCK FRENCH VANILLA LATTE
WOLFGANG PUCK RICH MOCHA LATTE

HILLSIDE FRENCH VANILLA LATTE

BEAUMONT GOLD FRENCH VANILLA

“This recall is a national effort not just affecting Georgia,” says Irvin.  “Consumers are advised to return Lakeside products in 10 oz. containers to their place of purchase (retail, grocery store or the Internet) for a full refund.”

There have been no reported illnesses associated with this product at this time, Lakeside officials say.  Consumers are warned not to use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled.
