At the State Farmers Markets in Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Macon, Savannah and Thomasville, and the seasonal ones in Cordele, Cairo, Pelham Donalsonville, Glennville, Moultrie, Tifton and Valdosta, you can buy “Georgia Grown” sweet onions, Vidalias and a wide variety of other “root crops” by the ton or the bag.  Here, Adolfo Carrillo prepares a shipment of prize onions to the nation’s mid-West.
