The State Weights and Measures Laboratory is a N.I.S.T. traceable metrology facility.  The lab conducts both precision and tolerance calibration testing in the area of mass (weight).  They also conduct volumetric testing of metal provers and length testing of steel tapes and rigid rules.  These services are provided for state agencies, licensed scale companies and private industry.  Some other areas that the lab is involved in are testing 3000lb to 5000lb weight carts, overseeing the states grain moisture testing program and conducting a monthly inspection of  lottery balls for the Georgia Lottery Commission.
