In addition, member representatives were selected from industry, legislative and consumer organizations to participate. The group conducts quarterly meetings to discuss current issues that require multi-agency response. Topics include: foodborne illness and outbreaks, data sharing between regulatory agencies, better communication with the public, media and consumers. Team members work cooperatively to promote uniform standards, program assessment and evaluation, laboratory operations coordination, food safety education, training and certification.
