The Georgia f.o.b. dock quoted price on broilers and fryers for this week's trading is 83.50¢ based on full truck load lots of ice pack USDA grade "A" sized 2½ to 3 pound birds.  79% (representing 916 loads) of the loads offered have been confirmed within a range of 79.85¢ to 84.50¢ with a preliminary weighted average of 82.80¢ f.o.b. dock or equivalent.  The market is fully moderate and the live supply is adequate for a normal to good, mostly normal demand.  Average weights are desirable to heavier than desired in a few instances.  Estimated slaughter today is 5,024,900 head.  This compares with 5,724,100 head last weekend.

The f.o.b. dock confirmed preliminary weighted average prices on ice pack parts based on truck load and pool truck load lots for this week's trading are:

Line Run Tenders:    
     $1.7950   -   (based on 1,114,000 lbs.)

Skinless Boneless Breasts:    
     $1.53  -   (based on 4,972,000 lbs.)

Whole Breasts:    
      85.50¢    -   (based on 1,118,000 lbs.)

Boneless Skinless Thigh Meat:    
     $1.2750   -   (based on 1,016,000 lbs.)

Leg Quarters:    
      48.00¢  -   (based on 7,680,000 lbs.)

Wings:    
     $1.0450  -  (based on 2,417,000 lbs.)

Demand on line run tenders and whole breasts ranges normal to good, mostly normal; skinless boneless breasts and wings is good to light, mostly normal; while the demand on boneless skinless thigh meat and leg quarters is good.

Trading on heavy breeder type hens was moderate.  The market undertone is unchanged with offerings adequate for a normal to good demand.  There was not enough negotiated trading for the week ending today to report a price.  Estimated slaughter for the week ending today is 283,200 head.  This compares with 201,700 head the same time a year ago.  There was also not enough negotiated trading for next week to report a price.

ESTIMATED SLAUGHTER FOR THE WEEK ENDING TODAY:  Broilers and fryers are 25,483,500 head.  This compares with 24,661,800 head of broilers and fryers the corresponding week a year ago.
