The Georgia f.o.b. dock quoted price on broilers and fryers for this week's trading is 82.00¢ based on full truck load lots of ice pack USDA grade "A" sized 2½ to 3 pound birds. 79% (representing 761 loads) of the loads offered have been confirmed within a range of 77.67¢ to 85.24¢ with a preliminary weighted average of 81.84¢ f.o.b. dock or equivalent. The market is generally steady and the live supply is adequate for a normal to occasionally good demand. Average weights are ranging mostly desirable. Estimated slaughter today and Saturday is 5,025,500 head. This compares with 4,973,800 head last Friday.

38.00¢ - (based on 7,313,000 lbs.)
Wings:
$1.57 - (based on 2,699,000 lbs.)
Demand on line run tenders and thighs is mostly normal; skinless boneless breasts and leg quarters ranges normal to occasionally good, mostly normal; whole breasts, drumsticks and wings is good; while the demand on boneless skinless thigh meat is light to normal.
Trading on heavy breeder type hens was active. The market undertone is unchanged with offerings adequate for a good to very good pre-holiday demand. There was not enough negotiated trading for the week ending today to report a price. Estimated slaughter for the week ending today is 206,200 head. This compares with 278,000 head the same time a year ago. There was also not enough negotiated trading for next week to report a price.
ESTIMATED SLAUGHTER FOR THE WEEK ENDING TODAY: Broilers and fryers are 22,751,800 head. This compares with 21,946,000 head of broilers and fryers the corresponding week a year ago.
