Farmers Reminded To Return Forms
Ag Census
“Regardless of the status or size of agricultural activities in 2007, everyone who received a Census of Agriculture form in the mail should complete it and send it back to our office. It’s not too late,” says Doug Kleweno, Georgia State Director for USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service “Not everyone that received a questionnaire farmed last year. That information is just as important for us to know. Simply write a note on the form explaining the situation and send it back, using the postage paid return envelope provided with the form.”
Kleweno requests those receiving the Census form send it back even if the operation is out of business, if you are only a landlord, if you no longer operate a farm, if the farm had no sales, if you have never farmed, are retired from farming, if the farm land has been sold, etc.
“We know your time is valuable. However, the information collected is very important too. It will be used to support your community and American agriculture. Thank you in advance for your response.” says Kleweno.
