Honeybee Project Provides Education to Children

The Honeybee Project is a children’s environmental education project that is raising money to create two things:  (1) a complete set of classroom materials on the honeybee (K-6) that will be available to schools, libraries, museums, 4H clubs, agricultural extension offices, bee associations, and any children’s educational entity that might benefit from them, and (2) a museum exhibition on the honeybee in conjunction with their partner, The North Carolina Arboretum, which will eventually travel around the U.S. for ten years, three cities a year.  While this project is being produced through the collaboration of Southeastern beekeepers, educators, scientists, multi-media people and museum designers, it will be a national offering.
